TOW met in Oklahoma City,
hosted by Thimblers of Oklahoma (TOO)
Members of Thimbles On Wheels (TOW) met October 22, 2005 in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma, hosted by Thimblers of Oklahoma (TOO) Fourteen people attended, from six
states. Deborah Wood from IL; Emily Capin from AZ; Arlene and Rex Beach from KS; Sue
and Phil Eberley from MO; Pat Bailey, Bobbie Frisk, Ruth Demand, Mollie and Jess Hanna
from OK; Kit Froebel, Mary and Richard Craft from TX.
Those who arrived on Friday evening enjoyed a great dinner at Zio's Italian Kitchen and
then travelled to Pat Bailey's beautiful home for visiting and "Show and Tell." Thank you
Pat for your hospitality and a big thank you to Bobbie Frisk for shuttle service and map
On Saturday morning everyone met again at Pat's home for our programs. Kit Froebel
presented "Contemporary Thimbles" and Mary Craft presented "Treasures From the Dark
Continent," both with beautiful slide shows. Jess Hanna, husband of collector Mollie
Hanna, gave a presentation of his wooden creations, including thimble display racks,
wonderful cabinets with drawers, and beautiful wooden thimbles made of various woods.
Everyone adjourned to the Rose Garden Tea Room for a late lunch and finished the
meeting there, including Gift Swap, Buy/Sell, and more Show and Tell. After the meeting
several collectors visited Buchanan's Antique Market at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds.
It was a great meeting and we wish everyone could have joined us. We hope to see you at
our next meeting in August 2006 in Seattle, WA. In the meantime, check out photos of this
